A new set of features will soon be released on WhatsApp, which will let you link accounts with other apps like Instagram and set your account to vacation mode. All these details were revealed by serial leakster WABetaInfo, which has a habit of sharing upcoming features on the popular messaging app.
The news of these features comes less than a week after the same online channel revealed that WhatsApp is slowly increasing the time limit for a message to be viable for ‘Delete for Everyone’.
What this meant was, the “delete for everyone” feature will be available for around 13 hours, 8 minutes and 16 seconds, before the message can be deleted by the user. After this window, the message cannot be deleted.
Talking about the vacation mode, the website had this to say:
Currently, when you archive a chat, WhatsApp automatically un-archives it once a new message is received from that chat. Thanks to the Vacation Mode feature, things are going to change soon for archived chats. Soon, when the feature is enabled from your WhatsApp notification settings, archived chats won’t be unarchived if you have previously muted them!

WABetaInfo further highlights that the mode will be available to users on WhatsApp across all platforms; Android, iOS and even Windows Phone in the near future. The option will be available via the Settings section on the app.
The other feature that’ll soon make its way to the app will be account linking.
WhatsApp is working right now on a new feature that allows you to link your account with external services. The feature appears mainly developed for WhatsApp Business, but some references were found in the normal WhatsApp app too. It’s not available yet for both apps. The Linked Accounts option will be located under your Profile.

This feature clearly shows Facebook influence finally showing up on WhatsApp. Having your Instagram account linked to WhatsApp or vice-versa might not be to everyone’s liking.
