Former Union Minister and ex-BJP leader Yashwant Sinha on Saturday, 19 January, while addressing the Opposition United India rally, criticised Modi government for being the first government after Independence which has been playing "mischief" with the developmental statistics.

‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vinash’

Sinha, who quit BJP recently under the current regime, mocked “sabka saath, sabka vikas” slogan – and said the more appropriate slogan under the government would be “sabka saath, sabka vinash”.

He also criticised the idea that while praising the government was “desh bhakti” (patriotism), criticising it is “desh drohi” (sedition).

‘Was Branded as Pak Agent for Suggestions on Kashmir Problem’

While being in a committee to find solution to the Kashmir problem, Sinha said when he had suggested to talk to the cross-section of people in the environment of love, he was branded a “Pakistani agent”.

When he asked NC leader Farooq Abdullah if he spoke wrong on this count, Abdullah nodded in negative.
