Were your google map lines in Delhi green instead of red?

No, half of the city’s population didn’t disappear overnight. The odd-even road space rationing scheme has made a comeback to combat the rising pollution levels in the city.

First implemented in 2016 by the AAP government, the odd-even scheme will be implemented from 4 November to 15 November. The scheme kicked in from 8 am on Monday, with only even-numbered non-transport vehicles allowed on Delhi roads on the first day of the exercise.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted urging citizens to follow the odd-even rule in the capital to fight pollution.

"Namaste Delhi, odd-even is starting from today to reduce pollution. Please do follow it for yourself, your family, kids and your breath. Share cars. It will strengthen friendship, form relations, save petrol and pollution," Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said in an early morning tweet in Hindi.

‘Need of the Hour’

While some lauded the return of the scheme, some others were quick to point out the bottlenecks.
