Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a crowd on 9 September in Haryana’s industrial town Manesar and said that the 100 days of governance under Modi 2.0 have been about “development, trust and big changes”.

On the same day, data published by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) showed that the sales of this sector in the month of August went down by 23 percent, an all time low since 1997-98. This slowdown in the auto sector has also affected the GDP, which dipped to 5 percent.
