Tamil superstars Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan on Friday attended a function organised by Opposition party Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Chennai. The actors attended the 75th anniversary celebrations of DMK mouthpiece Murasoli.
While Kamal Haasan was seen sharing the stage with DMK dignitaries, Rajnikanth was seated in the front row. Former BCCI president N Srinivasan and veteran actor Prabhu were also seen occupying the front row.
While Haasan has been critical of the ruling AIADMK in Bigg Boss Tamil – the reality show he hosts, Rajnikanth recently said he would join politics if “god wishes” him to.
Taking a jibe at the ruling AIADMK, Haasan had recently said that corruption was prevalent everywhere. Ministers of the ruling party, in turn, described him as a “a third-rate actor” and threatened him with legal cases.
On the other hand, Rajnikanth, increasing speculation about his entry into politics, had earlier said,
My life is in the hands of god. I’m a tool in the hands of god, and he is using me to do his bidding. He’s using me as an actor now, I’m working as an actor now. Tomorrow, whatever he decides...Rajnikanth
