Parliament Monsoon Session LIVE Updates: Home Minister Amit Shah is addressing the Lok Sabha on the no-confidence motion moved by the Opposition coalition 'INDIA'.
"The motion has been brought to distract the people and does not reflect the country's will," Shah said.
Speaking on Manipur, Shah said: "I agree with the Opposition that there has been unprecedented violence in Manipur. Nobody can stand for that. The events have shamed humanity. But what's more shameful than the events in Manipur is the politics around them."

Two days after his return to the Lok Sabha, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also addressed the House during a discussion on the motion. Targeting the government on the Manipur unrest, Gandhi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not consider the state as a part of India.
"The BJP government murdered India in Manipur. That is why the prime minister cannot go to Manipur" he said.
The BJP, on the other hand, attacked the Congress saying that it was under their regime when insurgency thrived in the Northeast.
"The Congress party needs to apologise to India," said Union Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Meanwhile, women MPs of the BJP filed a complaint against Rahul Gandhi with Speaker Om Birla, claiming he gave a flying kiss to the House during his address.
"You are not India. For India is not corrupt, India is not dynasty, and today of all the days people like you need to remember what was told to the British - Quit India!'" said Union Minister Smriti Irani in the Lok Sabha.

"We have been demanding a discussion since first day. We have been urging the Prime Minister to speak. We have not questioned Home Minister's competence, but how can a constable speak on behalf of a district collector?" Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said.
