Delhi ministers Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain on Tuesday, 28 February, resigned from the Delhi Cabinet.
This came shortly after the Supreme Court denied the bail plea of Sisodia, who is currently in custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with Delhi's excise policy case.
Jain, on the other hand, has been in prison for close to a year following his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged money laundering case.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also accepted their resignations, according to news agency ANI.
In a three-page resignation letter, Sisodia said that the allegations against him were "nothing more than a conspiracy of cowards and weak people."
"No one can force me to be corrupt... India's freedom fighters are my source of strength," he said, adding that his "fight for truth will give us political strength... the blessings of lakhs of Delhi government school children, their parents and teachers are with me," NDTV reported.
Portfolios formerly handled by Sisodia will reportedly be given to Delhi ministers Kailash Gahlot and Raaj Kumar Anand.
