The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday, 10 December, alleged that there was an attack at Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's residence by "BJP goons” in the presence of police who “remained a mute spectator."

The party claimed that the attack was carried despite Delhi Police being present at the spot. Six persons have been arrested and a case has been registered, The Hindu reported, quoting Delhi Police PRO Eish Singhal. However, their names have reportedly not been revealed.

Taking to Twitter, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal condemned the "systematic, organised and violent attack on Dy CM Manish Sisodia's home".

"The goons entered his house in police presence when he was away. Why is BJP getting so desperate by the day in Delhi?" Kejriwal wrote.

The Delhi CM asked, “Rajnathji, don't you think that a violent attack on Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister's residence in the presence of police is wrong? Why is there so much anger in the BJP over the support of the farmers' movement by the Aam Aadmi Party and the Delhi government?”

Sharing a video of the purported incident, Sisodia said, "Today, BJP's goons entered by breaking the doors of my house in my absence and tried to attack my wife and children. Amit Shahji, if you've lost in politics in Delhi, then you will tackle us this way?" he tweeted in Hindi.

AAP MLA Atishi Marlena also took to Twitter to condemn the attacks.

“Due to political differences, Home Minister Amit Shah is getting Deputy CM Manish Sisodia's family attacked. Seeing CCTV footage, do you think anyone will be arrested? Delhi Police is seen escorting 'BJP goondas' & making way for them to break the house gate” said Marlena, as quoted by ANI.

DCW Has Taken Suo-Moto Cognizance On The Violence

According to NDTV, BJP workers had earlier staged a protest near the Deputy CM's residence over an alleged conspiracy to kill mayors and leaders of municipal corporations.

The BJP has responded to AAP's allegations saying their protest was peaceful and called it an attempt to divert attention from the 'conspiracy'.
