Briefing the media after the CWC meet, Congress spokesperson Ranjeep Surjewala alleged the BJP-led NDA government was instrumental in Mehul Choksi’s escape.

Randeep Surjewala's attack on the BJP-led government comes a day after party president Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to take a jibe at the Modi governmet over the Mehul Choksi's escape from India.

Gandhi on Saturday convened the second meeting of the recently-formed Congress Working Committee (CWC) in New Delhi.

The main agendas of the meeting included the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam, Maratha reservation stir and Muzaffarpur shelter home sex scandal among several other political issues.
