Modiji, you can’t silence me.
Yogendra Yadav, Founder, Swaraj Abhiyan

Yogendra Yadav, former leader of the Aam Aadmi Party turned Swaraj Abhiyan founder, accused the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of using state machinery to target and harass his family on 11 July.

Taking to Twitter, Yadav claimed that over 100 members of the Income Tax Department had raided a hospital-cum-nursing home run by his sisters in Rewari, Haryana on the morning of 11 July.

He added that the hospital had been sealed off with doctors, including his sisters, his brother-in-law, his nephew and others being detained and not permitted to leave.

Yadav claimed that the raids came just two days after he took a 9-day padyatra in Haryana’s Rewari and launched an “agitation for MSP and against liquor thekas”.

Isn’t it a curious coincidence that within 48 hours, they find one place where something needs to be raided? This is exactly what used to happen during Emergency.
Yogendra Yadav, in a statement to NDTV

"PM Modi is very nervous about farmers. This is one issue that worries him the most today and since we are one of the voices there, we are being targeted,” Yadav said in a statement to NDTV.

According to Firstpost, the IT recovered about Rs 22 lakh cash, after it was allegedly detected that the owners made cash payments to a Nirav Modi firm for purchasing jewellery.

Opposition Leaders Back Yadav, Cry “Vendetta Politics”

Leaders of the opposition came out in support of Yadav and slammed the Income Tax Cell’s raids, accusing the BJP government of indulging in “vendetta politics”.

Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Leader Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter to accuse the Modi government of “vendetta politics”.

AAP leader Ashish Khetan called the raids were “another instance in a long series of raids, fabricated cases & persecution by agencies that the present regime has unleashed against the opposition.”

Whip for the Indian National Congress Deepender Hooda condemned the raids, calling the BJP government “badla badli ki sarkaar”.
