The Gujarat High Court on Friday, April 20, acquitted former BJP minister Maya Kodnani, despite eyewitness testimonies, in the Naroda Patiya riot case. As many as 97 Muslims were killed in the massacre that took place on 28 February 2002, in what was one of the worst incidents of the 2002 Gujarat riots.
Following the verdict, many took to Twitter expressing their views on the verdict. Many were taken aback by the news.
‘RIP Justice’: Journalists, Oppn Slam Judgement
Unbelievable. Maya Kodnani acquitted despite eye witness testimonies of her exhorting the crowd, distributing swords and kerosene. Every Indian should feel ashamed

When govts change, evidence changes, charges change, investigators change, verdicts change.. why should we trust our criminal justice system when every high profile case is politicised? #NarodaPatiya
— Rajdeep Sardesai (@sardesairajdeep) April 20, 2018
Maya Kodnani has been acquitted in the Naroda Patiya Case. In a long list of recent judgements, BJP's tenure is behaving like Ganga Jal for all those accused in religion based criminal acts.

Sabke Paap Dhul se gaye hain.
Maya Kodnani had to be freed. If she was convicted then next Amitbhai would be in soup

From Aseemanand to Amit Shah, no government in Indian history has manage to acquit so many ruling party criminals in just 4 years.
Minimum Government & Maximum Interference
If Maya Kodnani had been convicted. Then Amit Shah would have been convicted.

Charges: Incited a mob to kill, 96 killed in the #NarodaPatiyaMassacre
Eyewitnesses saw her distributing swords and kerosene.
Then who killed the 96 people?https://t.co/GBEqhiLHK3
16 years of delay and ignoring the SIT's written submission which clearly indicted Kodnani's dangerous role in massacre of 100 Muslims. What does it say. Then she has been in indefinite bail since 2014. https://t.co/OIRjtldv6T

Those who believe that Maya Kodnaniâs acquittal is a sign of her innocence must also believe that Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar played no role in the anti-Sikh riots.
