Remember the young boy in Dharamshala who was urging people to wear masks and follow COVID-19 protocols? His viral video has impressed many, and has left a lot others thinking about how a 5-year-old can adhere to rules better than educated, fully-grown adults.
Amit's efforts have been recognised by the local police too, who have now made him their mascot for urging people to follow COVID-19 protocols. Amit has also been given a cap, snacks, and energy drinks to show appreciation for his efforts.
Talking about the alarming situation in the hill stations and the growing tourism there, Vimukt Ranjan, the SSP (superintendent of police) of the area said, "I have directed that police assistance rooms be set up at McLeodganj and Bhasunag to tackle the massive tourist influx. We will impose heavy penalties on those not following the norms," to Hindustan Times.
Here is how Amit first went viral:
Amit was seen scolding tourists and locals for not wearing a mask at all, and also has a plastic baton he is mildly hitting them with. None of the people on the street seem to care about wearing a mask, and the boy is the only one wearing it. Incidentally, he does not have a pair of shoes on his feet, but has ensured to wear a mask.

Some of the people are even seen mocking the boy. Netizens are enraged at the nonchalance of the people there, who have flouted COVID-19 guidelines without a care in the world. Here is how they reacted:
