Rajasthan & Telangana Elections: Voters Flaunt Inked Fingers

Polling is underway in both the biggest state, Rajasthan, and the youngest state, Telangana. As the last leg of the mega-five polls come to an end. The Quint’s My Report asked the voters from both the states to show off their inked fingers.

These voters are a part of The Quint’s My Vote My Report campaign where they’ve registered with us to send on-ground reports from the states that went to polls.

TR Madhavan voted for the government which would provide them water. The society he lives in does not receive a steady supply of water for a few years now. He even wrote to the chief minister of Telangana but to no avail.

Gita Devi an 85-year-old voter from Alwar says, “I have voted for better healthcare for old people. I've also voted for the government who will work for women's safety.”

Gattimi voted for employment and he voted against KCR's ‘dictatorship’ and ‘egoism’.

Saad is a first-time voter. In 2014, Saad had gone to cast his vote. He had all the required documents. But when the polling officials cross checked his name in the list, it was found that his vote was already casted by some other bogus voter.

Thankfully, this time he cast his vote without any foul play.

Harshit Pareek is also a first-time voter and couldn’t control his excitement. “This is my democratic right to vote. I have been waiting to exercise my right to vote and today I finally did,” said an elated Harshit.
