I Wish We Could Keep Politics Away from the Armed Forces

The three forces – the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Airforce – have always been our nation’s pride.

Dear soldiers,

You are the bravest sons of the country, who devote their lives to protect our beautiful motherland.

The three forces – the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Airforce – have always been the pride of our nation.

My only humble request is not to involve politics with our armed forces. Please don’t let me down.

I truly believe in what Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose said:

“It is only on the basis of undiluted nationalism and of perfect justice and impartiality that the Indian Army of Liberation can be built up.”

For me, the armed forces are the true sons of this motherland, who shed their blood and sacrifice for this nation.
