Sunday, 3 February, was an action-packed day for the people of Kolkata as Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee decided to stage a dharna. The chief minister went all out to attack the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and its officials, who showed up at the residence of Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar to question him in connection with a probe into the ponzi scheme scam.
I stepped out on Monday just to know what Kolkatans think about the situation, and take their view on Didi’s ‘Save the Constitution’ protest.
There was not an iota of doubt among students that all this was election propaganda. It seem the stage was already set for the grand 2019 elections.
In my opinion, they are are using religion and caste as much as possible before the election to create divisions. But when it comes to a communally sensitive state like Bengal, I would say one thing would be constant – all eyes would be set on Mamata Banerjee.
Modi knows that if Mamata is going down (losing popularity) here in Bengal he will be getting the advantage in the 2019 elections. So, I think this is a clever move from Modi.Abhimanyu, Student

Everything that is happening around the case is for the election, the way CBI has been misused to challenge Mamata that’s also in a way to influence the election, and the way Mamata Banerjee is protesting, her aim is the election as well.Ahan, Student
But the BJP needs to realise that Banerjee is not afraid of street politics.
