The family has named two men in the written complaint and have alleged rape. The police have arrested both the accused.

The Accused Reportedly Called a Doctor to Treat the Woman After Raping Her

As per the police investigation, the accused tried to get the victim treated after raping her. They called a doctor to check on her, but the doctor got suspicious and refused to treat her in the absence of an elderly or her guardian.

The doctor told the media a boy called him around 5 pm and took him to his house, when the doctor reached the place, there was another man sitting beside the woman. The boys told him that the victim was the daughter of a government secretary.

The doctor got suspicious and said that he won’t treat until the time her guardian was present with her.

“They told me to go back to my clinic and said they will call the secretary and get the victim to my clinic. I don't know where they went after that.”

Political Leaders React

Slamming the Yogi government, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati while speaking to the media said: “After Hathras incident, I hoped UP government would take action against people committing crimes against women. But a similar crime has been committed against a Dalit student in Balrampur. Under BJP's UP government, criminals, mafias and rapists are having a free run.”

The BSP chief also demanded Yogi Adityanath’s resignation, she said that “Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should resign if he can't ensure safety to women. He is unable to maintain law and order in the state. I urge the Centre to send him to his place - Gorakhnath Math.”

Attacking the UP government, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet that “In jungle raj of UP, the persecution of the daughters continues. They were never honoured while they lived, the last shred of dignity was also taken away during the funeral. The BJP's slogan is not ‘save daughter,’ it is ‘hide facts, save power’.”

Former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav took to Twitter to say: “After Hathras, a girl has been gang-raped in Balrampur and she has now succumbed. The BJP government should not indulge in a cover-up like in Hathras and must immediately take strict action against the culprits.”

AAP leader Sanjay Singh demanded CM Yogi Adityanath’s resignation, he said: “A Dalit’s daughter was raped in Balrampur. It’s a curse to be a woman in ‘Yogi’s Raj’, leave the power if you cannot protect the daughters,” Singh tweeted in Hindi.
