As the seven-phase long Lok Sabha elections drew to a close on Sunday, 19 May, the Times Now-VMR exit poll predicted a majority for the Narendra Modi-led NDA government. It has predicted a total of 306 seats for NDA, while UPA is expected to get 132 seats, according to the exit polls.
Other parties are together expected to bag 104 seats.

Among major states, BJP with its allies is projected to win 58 states in Uttar Pradesh while the SP-BSP grand alliance might be restricted to 20 seats.
In other states of the Hindi heartland too, BJP is expected to win big as it looks set to replicate its near clean sweep performances in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. In Bihar too, the BJP-JD(U)-LJP alliance is expected to bag 30 out of 40 seats.
In West Bengal, TMC is expected to be the leading party with 29 seats but BJP may reach double figures, bagging 11 seats.
Among southern states, the Congress-DMK alliance is expected to win 29 seats as opposed to 9 seats of BJP-AIADMK alliance. In Kerala, the Congress-led UDF is projected to win 15 out of 20 seats while in Karnataka, BJP might trump Congress convincingly.
