Thushar Vellappally To Fight Rahul From Wayanad as NDA Candidate

The BJP on Monday, 1 April, announced Thushar Vellappally, the president of the Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS), an ally of the saffron party in Kerala, as the NDA candidate from Kerala's Wayanad.

BJP President Amit Shah, who tweeted the decision said, “A vibrant and dynamic youth leader, he represents our commitment towards development and social justice. With him, NDA will emerge as Kerala's political alternative.”

Vellappally will be contesting from the seat against Congress President Rahul Gandhi, whose candidature was announced on Sunday.

Thushar Vellappally is the son of Vellappally Natesan, who is the general secretary of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam, which works for the welfare of Ezhava community, a backward caste with sizable population in the state, reported PTI.

Meanwhile, the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala has fielded CPI's PP Suneer in the segment.
