Minutes after Congress President Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination from the Wayanad seat in Kerala on Thursday, 4 April, his sister Priyanka Gandhi called him "the most courageous man" she knows, urging people from the constituency to “take care of him”.
Taking to Twitter with a picture of Rahul Gandhi submitting his nomination papers before District Collector AR Ajayakumar in Wayanad's Kalpetta, Priyanka wrote: "My brother, my truest friend, and by far the most courageous man I know. Take care of him, Wayanad, he won’t let you down."
A day after landing in Kozhikode, Priyanka had accompanied the Congress chief to Wayanad on Thursday, where they also held a roadshow.
Addressing the media after filing his nomination, Rahul said he was "not going to say a word against the CPM" in his entire campaign.
“I understand that my brothers and sisters in CPM will now speak against me and attack me... But I will absorb all the attacks from CPM with happiness... I am not going to say a word against the CPM in my entire campaign.”Rahul Gandhi
The Congress chief further said that he had come to Kerala to send a message that India is one.
