As more and more information is revealed about the recently launched NaMo TV, which provides coverage of PM Modi’s speeches, Twitterati has been coming out full force on the social media platform, expressing a range of emotions.

A report by The Print has already stated that the channel is illegal, because it has neither a broadcast license nor a mandatory security clearance. Apart from that, an annoyed Twitter user contacted Tata Sky about the channel, only to find out that there was no way to delete it, which has only added to annoyance at the channel.

While some simply criticised the channel, attacking PM Modi, others had more humorous, innovative reactions to the controversial NaMo TV.

Some others questioned why Modi needed NaMo TV when there were already so many other pro-Modi channels around.

One person on Twitter said that it would be a good idea to start another channel related to Modi, but dedicate it to Modi’s speeches before becoming PM.

Others reacted in shock to the revelation that the channel did not have permission.

Some questioned what the Election Commission were doing and how they were allowing this channel to continue telecasting, ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

Academic and author Happymon Jacob quipped that the channel starting operations without a broadcast license conclusively showed that “the ease of business” had drastically improved in the country.
