Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) will not contest the upcoming Bihar elections in alliance with Janata Dal (United) due to ideological differences, reported ANI, citing Abdul Khaliq, the National General Secretary of LJP.

Announcing it’s decision to contest the Bihar elections separately, LJP, according to ANI, said

“BJP is a strong alliance of Lok Janshakti Party at national level and Lok Sabha elections. Due to ideological differences with the Janata Dal (United) in the alliance at the state level and Assembly elections, the Lok Janshakti Party in Bihar has decided to contest separately from the alliance.”

LJP, however still, hopes to form a government with the BJP.

According to ANI Hindi, the party said:

“After Assembly elections in Bihar, Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) & BJP will form govt in Bihar, following the path of development led by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

In a press release, LJP further said that they are leaving it up to the voters to decide who between JDU and LJP would be a better fit in the contested seats.

LJP spokesperson Sanjay Singh told Hindi Quint that their party cannot fight the elections with Nitish Kumar as the CM face.

According to the Hindi Quint report, Chirag Paswan's party LJP will field its candidates against JDU, but there will be no candidate in the seats contested by BJP.
