CRPF Jawan Injured in IED Blast in Chhattisgarh's Raipur

A CRPF jawan was injured in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast triggered by Naxals in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh on Thursday, police said.

The incident took place near Korkoti village under Dhanora police station limits when a team of security personnel was escorting a polling team on its way back after conducting voting, a senior police official said.

36 Candidates File Nominations in Delhi on Thursday

Thirty-six candidates filed their nominations on Thursday, taking the total tally to 48 for the Lok Sabha polls in Delhi scheduled for 12 May.

Twelve candidates, including 10 from unrecognised parties, filed their nominations on 16 April.

Karnataka BJP has written to the Election Commission over alleged mass indiscriminate deletion of voters name in the voters list. “The officials have purposefully and deliberately deleted names without any reason, just to render undue official favor to the ruling coalition party,” the letter read.

Mumbai's ‘Dabbawalas’ Announce Their Alliance for Shiv Sena

The famous ‘dabbawalas’ (tiffin-box carriers) in Mumbai have announced their support for the Shiv Sena in the Lok Sabha elections.

"It is only the Shiv Sena, which always stood behind us for our welfare. It has also promised to construct a 'Dabbawala Bhavan' for us,” President of Mumbai Dabbawala Association Subhash Talekar.
