Putting an end to the see-sawing counting, Congress emerged the single largest party inn Madhya Pradesh with 114 seats in its tally. Announcing it’s comeback, the party also tasted victory in Rajasthan by securing 99 seats. Chhattisgarh proved to be a surprise as well for the national party, with Congress winning in over 68 seats and now poised to form government.
Alongside, K Chandrasekhar Rao-led Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Mizo National Front (MNF) emerged the victor in Telangana and Mizoram respectively.
The Assembly elections have been widely touted as the semi-final before the general elections in 2019.
