Avanish Kumar is a multimedia journalist and digital storyteller who worked with The Quint from 2022 to 2026, reporting extensively on Indian politics, human rights, social justice, hate crimes, education, climate change, and other social issues. During his time there, he reported and produced videos, interviews, and ground reports focusing on stories that are often overlooked in mainstream journalism.
Based in Delhi, Avanish hails from Sitamarhi district in Bihar. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from IIMT Group of Colleges, Noida, and a Master’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Nalanda Open University, Patna.
His work reflects a strong interest in public interest journalism, accountability reporting, and people-centered storytelling, particularly on issues related to social justice, climate change, development, and marginalized communities.
