Sangmuan Hangsing

Sangmuan Hangsing is an independent researcher and policy commentator with a focus on indigenous studies, borderlands, and political philosophy. His writings appear in The Indian Express, The Wire, The Quint, and EastMojo. Currently pursuing a Master's in Public Policy at Kautilya School of Public Policy, he co-founded Footnotes, a Manipur-based collective, and leads outreach for the Saplings Library Project. Sangmuan brings critical, insider perspectives shaped by his lived experiences as part of India’s indigenous and minority communities.
