Irshad Hussain

Irshad Hussain is an award-winning independent journalist based in Jammu and Kashmir. He has seven years of experience in covering politics, human rights, insurgency, business, culture and environmental crises. His work has been published in The Quint, Thomson Reuters Foundation, BBC,  The Independent, News Decoder, The Hindu, The Wire, and several other national and international outlets. He is the recipient of a Pulitzer grant, and was among the finalists of the Human Rights Religious Freedom Journalism Awards in 2023. He holds a Masters in Convergent Journalism degree from Central University of Kashmir.
