The BJP-led NDA government has effectively revoked Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, stripping the state of its special privileges.

Home Minister Amit Shah, while moving the resolution in Parliament, had said that the people in J&K were still living in poverty, even as the rest of the country was developing.

Ahead of Shah’s address, restrictions had been put in place in the Valley, with phone and internet services suspended, communication and movement restricted.

With the lockdown entering the fifth day, one can see two distinct narratives emerging online – one that claims things are returning to normalcy, while the other that says otherwise.
