Vice Admiral Girish Luthra, who until recently, served as Commander In Chief of the Western Naval Command, has recently broken the internet with his soulful voice. This video of him reminded us all to remember to be happy. As he pointed out to me in his beautiful Mumbai home,

“I sang my first song at the age of 60. It is never too late to go after what you want”.

When asked about the intolerance in the country, he responded:

“Being focussed does not mean we need to create anxiety and tension around us”.

He also spoke about how India dealt with the Pulwama attack.

“This may also not deter and may not immediately change the attitude and the approach of some of the people who are sponsoring and abetting terrorism”.

While India awaits the General Elections, the media and other newsrooms around are reporting every tiny detail with the dramatics of a Shakespearean play, and Mr Girish pointed out how bad that can be for the nation.

“When things are being passed around, people tend to start believing them and that can be dangerous”.

Whatever said and done, this magnificent man’s even more magnificent voice will fill you with happiness. Don’t forget to catch his adorable Dil Diyyan Gallan performance at the end!
