Director duo Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane came together and gave us Netflix’s first Indian original series Sacred Games. We caught up with the filmmakers and looks like they enjoyed exploring this new platform. Almost eight hours of content and no worry about interference from the Central Board of Film Certification. Sounds like a dream come true for these directors. When asked about Saif Ali Khan, Vikram Motwane says he was the perfect choice for Sartaj and he was also the only choice. But they don’t take any credit for the show, they gave it all to the writer of the book, Vikram Chandra. Filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane said, “We directors do only 10% of the work.”

Netflix's maiden original Indian mini-series, Sacred Games which is produced by the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Entertainment's Phantom Films joint venture, and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap of Phantom Films, has been the talk of the town. Sacred Games has taken over social media and if you haven’t watched it yet, we are sure peer pressure will make you watch it. The Mumbai-based drama on India's dark underworld has given Netflix a "strong start" for its local content in the country. The Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte starrer is based on Vikram Chandra's eponymous novel of 2006 and premiered worldwide on Netflix on July 6. The reviews have been great, and performances by the impressive and carefully chosen cast have found a mention in most reviews.
