iPhone users, next time you get a voice note on WhatsApp, you can listen to the audio straight from the notification bar. This feature support means you don’t have to open the app or click on the voice note to hear it.
Having said that, it is worth noting the feature is only available for beta users of the messaging platform right now.
The news about the feature’s availability comes via reliable tipster WABetainfo, who also mentions that only select users will be able to see the option for now.
The tipster has a solid track record of being accurate with upcoming features of WhatsApp, and yet again, we expect the platform to get this option in the coming weeks.
But the blog post confirms that because of limitations with iOS, users can only reply with text messages. Playing a voice message does not immediately send the play receipt, but it will be sent once the user opens WhatsApp, the blog post adds.
As you might know, Android users can already read through multiple audio notes without clicking on each one of them. Previously, you would have to click on play for every audio note to listen to them, but with the new update for the app, you don’t have to do that anymore. It auto-plays notes one after the other.
