Apple could introduce the second generation iPhone SE device next year, and it’s likely to borrow its design elements from the iPhone 8 series. Well, that’s what renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, quoted in this 9to5Mac report has to say this week.

According to Kuo, the iPhone could launch as early as Q1 of 2020, which is less than six months away from now. This product, is likely to be powered by high-end hardware, but its design will mirror that of the iPhone 8.

Which mean, the iPhone SE 2 will be the first product from Apple in the past couple of years to sport a physical Thumb ID button, as well as carry thick bezels on the screen.

Hopefully, Apple will compensate for the dated design with an affordable price tag, something that Kuo has refused to talk about for now.

The iPhone SE 2 is likely to sport a 4.7-inch HD display, but thankfully, Apple users can expect the device to be loaded with A13 processor, the same chipset powering the iPhone 11 series in 2019.

The plan to use iPhone 8 design and re-launch it as the iPhone SE 2 is most likely going to target existing users with iPhone 6 (which doesn’t get iOS 13 this year) or even the iPhone 7 series.

Most people might not like Apple’s choice of aged design and a smaller screen size for the iPhone SE 2, but it’s possible there are people who might be looking for something exactly like that. It all eventually comes down to how Apple decides to price the iPhone SE 2, and whether this will be the model to replace the iPhone 8 series in 2020.
