Hyundai had some interesting cars on display at the Geneva Motor show. The first was the Hyundai Kona electric SUV. This car will come to the Indian market next year, with Hyundai targeting a price point of Rs 25 lakh. That does seem a little ambitious.

The Hyundai Kona electric will be powered by a 136 PS electric motor that puts out 395 Nm torque, good for a top speed of 155 kmph. There's also a more powerful version that has a 204 PS motor with a top speed of 167 kmph. The first version has a range of about 300 km on a full charge, while the second one can do 480 km, as it also has larger capacity batteries.

Hyundai also showcased the Nexo – a fuel-celled powered electric vehicle – at the Geneva Motor Show. The Nexo was showcased in New Delhi recently as well. It uses hydrogen as a power source, converting it to water and in the process generating electricity on board to drive the car.

Besides the Hyundai Nexo and the Hyundai Kona electric, the company also offered a glimpse into its future design in the form of its concept sports car named ‘Le Fil Rouge’ (that's The Red Wire in French).

The Hyundai Ioniq electric and Hyundai Ioniq hybrid cars were also showcased. The Ioniq electric was shown at the Auto Expo in New Delhi as well. The Ioniq electric is powered by a 118 bhp electric motor and has a range of 200 km per charge.

Besides these, regular Hyundai cars – Tucson, i10, i20 – were also on display. The new 2018 Santa Fe was also showcased, which may get a relaunch in India later. At the moment, Hyundai has discontinued sales of the Santa Fe in India.
