It announced a three-year strategic partnership with Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) as ‘Principal Sponsor’ to encourage and promote the sport of wrestling. The contract will cover the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta. This partnership will continue till 2021 and will include the World Championship and World Cup, 2020 Olympic Games, besides other national and international wrestling events.

Present at the event were Sushil Kumar, Yogeshwar Dutt, Bajrang Punia, Sandeep Tomar, Satyawarth Kadia, Geeta Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Pooja Danda.

Sakshi Malik, the first female wrestler to win an olympic medal said “Wrestling is all hard work and it brings the maximum medals, but it had no sponsors. So, it’s a big day for wrestling. Hopefully, more sponsors will come on board now.”

Sushil Kumar spoke to The Quint about his first loss in four years.

It was a gap in my career and people conveniently picked that up. Winning and losing is a part of the game and losing a game has more learnings.
