Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter on Saturday, 25 May and wished Virat Kohli and the Indian cricket team all the best for the upcoming World Cup.
The wish was in reply to Virat’s congratulatory tweet about Narendra Modi coming back to power.
“Congratulations @narendramodiji. We believe India is going to reach greater heights with your vision. Jai hind,” Virat wrote.
Modi was quick to reply. He thanked Kohli and further wished him for the upcoming World Cup in England and Wales.
The PM wrote: “Thank you @imVkohli. Wishing you and the team the very best for the upcoming World Cup.”
Shikhar Dhawan and RavI Shastri too, took to twitter and congratulated Modi.
Dhawan Wrote, “People of the country have given their mandate. Many congratulations to @narendramodi ji and @BJP4India for their second innings and here's hoping for another fantastic term ahead.”
Modi replied to Dhawan’s tweet by saying, “ Thank you @SDhawan25. We will continue to serve our citizens and enhance India’s growth trajectory.”
Ravi Shastri, on the other hand, wished the prime minister in his typical style and wrote, “ Another stunning @narendramodi & @AmitShah partnership tracerbullets @BJP4India to poll position for second time running. Election results further reaffirm Modi Ji’s leadership of the world's largest democracy. Awesome performance.”
Modi in reply, thanked Shastri and tweeted, “ Thank you @RaviShastriOfc”
India lost their first Warm up game against New Zealand and will now face Bangladesh on 28 May. The Men in Blue will be begin their official World Cup campaign against South Africa on 5 June.
