The first photos of the Men in Blue donning their orange jerseys are in! Before the Indian cricket team wear their ‘away jersey’ for the first time in the ICC World Cup match against England on Sunday, 30 June, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammad Shami took to social media to share photos of themselves wearing the new kit.
The Indian cricket team’s official apparel sponsor Nike, had on Friday, 28 June, confirmed that Virat & co will be sporting an orange and blue jersey for their highly-anticipated clash against the hosts at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Indian pacer Shami posted a photo with opener KL Rahul, and wrote, ‘Ready for the next match in New Jersey’.
‘Ready to rumble in new jersey,’ wrote spinner Chahal in his post.
The Indian cricket team’s official Instagram handle too shared photos from the photoshoot that included those of MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Dinesh Karthik.
Since hosts England also have a blue jersey, India will debut their ‘away jersey’ for the first time in the tournament on 30 June.
‘The ODI and Away Kit designs launched this year are inspired by the young new generation of India and the fearless spirit of the national teams,’ said the apparel company in their official statement.
