The Indian cricket team registered a comfortable 9-wicket win over West Indies in the fifth and final ODI, and clinched the five-match series in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday, 1 November.
With this, Virat and co clinched India’s sixth straight series win at home – they last lost at home in 2015, when they went down 2-3 against South Africa. The visitors next play India in a three-match T20 series starting 4 November.
India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who returned with figures of 2/11 in 6 overs, posted a picture with teammates MS Dhoni, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja after their win.
Indian cricketers Suresh Raina and Mohammed Shami among others congratulated team India on the win. Shami was dropped for the final three matches of the series against West Indies after Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah were included in the squad.
From the Bollywood family, none other than Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to celebrate India’s win. In his congratulatory message, Senior Bachchan, who is a huge fan of Virat Kohli and his boys, explained how superlative was India’s performance.
