Starting at 6:30 AM, Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema will compete in the individual and team competitions of the Men's 10m Air Pistol event.
Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Ganemat Sekhon will be present at the same time for the skeet mixed team competition.
Badminton: Shuttler PV Sindhu is in action against her Mongolian counterpart Myagmartseren Ganbaatar in the Round of 16 match.

Wushu: India's Roshibini Devi is up against Chinese counterpart Wu Xiawei in women's 60 kg final. After first round, the Chinese has taken a 1-0 lead.
Wushu: The second round, too, has come to an end and it goes to Wu again. And that would be it. Roshibini gets a silver medal as she is defeated by Wu in both the rounds.

India have cruised to the quarterfinals as they have defeated Mongolia 3-0 in the opener.

With a combined score of 1734, the Indian team of Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema finished ahead of China to clinch the first gold of the day. What a comeback this; a few minutes ago, they didn't even appear to have a chance of making it to the individual final, but now things have flipped around, with two of the shooters easily making it.
Arjun (578) and Sarabjot (580) finished fifth and eighth, respectively, and have advanced to the individual final event which will take place at 9:00am IST.
Cycling: David Beckham has been defeated by Kaiya Ota of Japan in heat 2 of the men's sprint quarterfinal.
Table Tennis: After losing to Thailand's Phakpoom Sanguansin and Orawan Paranang 0-3 (4-11, 6-11, 10-12) in the round of 16 , India's Sreeja Akula and Harmeet Desai have been eliminated from the mixed doubles competition.
Table Tennis: The Singaporean duo of Clarence Chew and Zheng Jian defeated Indian pair of Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran (13-11, 12-10) in their round-of-16 match. The Indian team was up 2-0 and appeared to be headed for the quarterfinals, but the Singaporeans made an unexpected comeback to secure the victory.
With a timing of 11.616 seconds, Triyasha Paul placed 15th overall in the women's sprint qualifying round and has qualified for the 1/16 finals.
On the other hand, compatriot Mayuri Dhanraj Lute's campaign came to an end as she came in last in the event.

Shooting: Sarabjot Singh has finished fourth in the men's 10m air pistol individual final with a score of 199.0. Vietnam’s Huy Quang bagged the gold, Korean shooter Wonho Lee clinched the silver while Uzbek shooter Vladimir Svechnikov finished with bronze.
Shooting: The Indian pair of Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Ganemat Sekhon failed to qualify for the bronze medal match after finishing seventh in the skeet mixed team's qualifications.

With a timing of 8:39.64s, the Indian quartet of Dhinidhi Desinghu, Shivangi Sarma, Vritti Agarwal, and Hashika Ramachandra have been placed eighth overall in the heats and have earned the final qualifying berth for the 4x200m freestyle relay final, which will be held today at 6:36pm IST.
Tanish George, Vishal Grewal, Anand Anilkumar Shylaja, and Srihari Nataraj have been placed fifth overall in the heats with a time of 3:21.22s and have qualified for the men's 4x100m freestyle relay final.

Table Tennis: In the women's singles competition, Manika Batra has defeated Nabita Shrestha of Nepal winning 4-0 (11-5, 11-4, 11-3, 11-2). She now moves on to the round of 16.
Malaysia's Subramanium Sivasangari has defeated India's Joshana Chinappa 0-3 (6-11, 2-11, 8-11) in the opening round of the Pool B match.
Golfer Aditi Ashok is tied for second place in round one of the women's individual golf competition after shooting 67, -5 to par. Avani Prashanth (72) and Pranavi Urs (71) are in the T17 and T21 positions, respectively. After the first round, the Indian women's golf team's score of 138 places them in fifth place.
Squash: In Pool B, Malaysia established a 2-0 lead over India and took the group title. Aifa Azman defeated India's Tanfi Khanna in the second singles match with a dramatic score of 3-2 (9-11, 11-1, 7-11, 13-11, 11-5), overcoming a 1-2 lead at one point.
The third singles match, a dead rubber, will feature Anahat Singh versus Rachel Mae Arnold.
Squash: In the last game of the Women's Team Pool B match, Anahat Singh has lost to Rachel Mae Arnold 0-3 (7-11, 7-11, 12-14) despite saving five match points.
India have lost the Pool B match to Malaysia 0–3.

In Equestrian, Intermediate I Freestyle of the individual dressage event is currently underway, where team dressage's gold medallist Hriday Vipul Chedda has just been eliminated. Fellow gold medallist Anush Agarwalla remains in the hunt to win a medal.
Anush Agarwalla is currently third on the Individual I Freestyle event of individual dressage in Equestrian. He has recorded a total score of 70.030 – 69.900 in technical and 76.160 in artistic.
Meanwhile in tennis, the semi-final of men's doubles has started. Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan, who comprise the India 2 team, are up against the South Korean pair of Seong-chan Hong and Soon-woo Kwon.
India have won the first set 6-1.
SECOND MEDAL FOR INDIA IN EQUESTRIAN!
Anush Agarwalla has won India's second equestrian medal by bagging a bronze medal in the individual dressage event. He finishes third in Intermediate I Freestyle, with a score of 73.030.

The men's squash team are victorious in their last group stage match, making a much-needed comeback after being defeated by Pakistan. They have secured a 3-0 triumph over Nepal, with all of Abhay Singh, Mahesh Mangaonkar and Harinder Pal Singh Sandhu winning their respective fixtures.
The Indian table tennis contingent might have had a disappointing start to the day, with defeats in two mixed doubles matches, but it is now beginning to look promising.
In the Round of 32 of women's doubles, Ayhika Mukherjee and Sutirtha Mukherjee have defeated Kazakhstan's Zauresh Akasheva and Anastassiya Lavrova 3-0 to qualify for the Round of 16.
They will now face the Thai pairing of Wanwisa Aueawiriyayothin and Jinnipa Sawettabut.

In men's singles, two-time Asian Games bronze medallist Achanta Sharath Kamal has qualified for the Round of 16 by beating Maldives' Mohamed Shaffan Ismail 4-0. In his next match, he will be up against Chinese Taipei's Chih-Yuan Chuang.
Double delight in women's doubles!
Not only the Mukherjee² pairing of Ayhika and Sutirtha, but Diya Chitale and Sreeja Akula have also qualified for the Round of 16 of women's doubles. They defeated Vietnam's Ngoc Tran Mai and Nguyen Thi Nga by a 3-0 margin in their Round of 32 bout.
In the next round, they will be up against the Japanese pairing of Miya Harimoto and Miyuu Kihara.
Following the steps of his Indian TT compatriots, Sathiyan Gnanasekaran have also thrown his hat into the ring by securing a place in the Round of 16 of men's singles. He did so by beating Saudi Arabia's Turki Lafi H Almutairi in the Round of 32 by a 4-0 margin.
In his next match, Sathiyan will be up against Chuqin Wang of China.
Triumph in Tennis!
Good news keep pouring for the Indian contingent, as in tennis, the men's doubles pair of Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan have just qualified for the final. In their semi-final match, they defeated the South Korean pair of Seong-chan Hong and Soon-woo Kwon by a 6-1, 7-6, (10)-(0) margin.
In the gold medal bout, Saketh and Ramkumar will be up against Chinese Taipei's Yu-Hsiou Hsu and Jason Jung.
Football action is currently underway, where the men's team is facing Saudi Arabia in a Round of 16 tie. This will be stern challenge for India, considering the Saudis have the upper hand in every area of the pitch. Albeit, Sunil Chhetri and his team has given the nation enough reasons to be optimistic about.

30 minutes into the men's football Round of 16 contest, it will be safe to say that India are surviving by the skin of their teeth. The Saudi Arabian forwards, led by Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr teammate Mohammed Maran, have been all over the Indian defence so far. But fortunately for Igor Stimac's side, the Saudi Arabians have been unsuccessful in breaking the deadlock.

What has been an excellent day for the Indian tennis contingent, concludes with yet another victory, as Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale have qualified for the semi-final of mixed doubles. In theur quarter-final tie, they defeated Kazakhstan's Zhibek Kulambayeva and Grigoriy Lomakin 7-5, 6-3.
Bopanna-Bhosale's next challenge will be up against Chinese Taipei Hao-Ching Chan and Yu-Hsiou Hsu.
Boxer Deepak's campaign at the 2023 Asian Games has come to a premature end, as he has lost his Round of 16 tie in men's 46-51kg category. Up against Japan's Tomoya Tsuboi, the bronze medallist from this year's World Champions suffered a 1-4 defeat on points.

Aryan Nehra and Kushagra Rawat, who had qualified for the final of men's 800m freestyle, have finished in the 7th & 8th positions respectively. Aryan clocked a time of 8:04.06, finishing 18.03s behind the gold medallist, South Korea's Woomin Kim. Meanwhile, Kushagra finished eighth with a timing of 8:14.01.

India are a goal down in the Round of 16 football tie against Saudi Arabia. Mohammad Abu Al Shamat floated in a sublime cross from the right flank, before Al Nassr's Mohammed Marran placed his header past a helpless Dheeraj Singh.

Meanwhile in hockey, the Indian men's team is competing against Japan in their second group stage match. Craig Fulton's team has been flying so far in this competition, having beaten Uzbekistan and Singapore by 16-0 and 16-1 margins respectively.

India have taken the lead in the hockey contest against Japan. Abhishek, the 24-year-old forward from Haryana, opens the scoring in the 13th minute of the game.

Igor Stimac's boys huffed and puffed, and toiled hard for every ball, but ultimately, Saudi Arabia were too good a team to get the better of. India have lost the match by a 0-2 margin, with Al Nassr striker Mohammed Marran scoring both teams.
With this defeat, India's campaign in football comes to an end, with the women's team having made a group stage exit earlier in the tournament.
Meanwhile in hockey, the men's team is exercising their superiority over Japan. Experienced campaigner Mandeep Singh, who was a part of the bronze medal-winning team from 2018, makes the scoreline 2-0 in the 24th minute.

Nishant Dev has qualified for the quarter-final of men's 63.5-71kg category by beating Vietnam's Bui Phuoc Tong in his Round of 16 bout. The World Championships bronze medallist secured a win via knockout, and will now face Japan's Sewon Okazawa.

Odisha's Amit Rohidas, one of the more experienced players in the current Indian squad, makes the scoreline against Japan 3-0 by scoring in the 34th minute. Craig Fulton's boys are now sailing towards their third victory.

Abhishek scores his second, and India's fourth goal in the 48th minute of the game, as Japan are now going through the motions in the last few minutes of the game.
SWIMMING UPDATE:
India's swimming campaign today did not yield a medal, but there have been some impressive performances.
The men's 4x100m freestyle relay team of Srihari Nataraj, Anand Anilkumar, Vishal Grewal and Tanish George finished in the sixth position.
In women's 4x200m freestyle relay, the quartet of Dhinidhi Desinghu, Vritti Agarwal, Shivangi Sarma and Hashika Ramachandra finished eighth with a timing of 8:37.58.
VICTORY!
Japan had a late flurry, with Genki Mitani and Ryosei Gato scoring in the dying moments of the game, but those two goals bring nothing more than consolation as India have secured yet another victory, beating the gold medallists of 2018 by a 4-2 margin.
And with the victory of the hockey team, we have come to the conclusion of the Day 5 of 2023 Asian Games.
India have won three medals today, one of which was a gold medal, won by the trio of Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal and Arjun Singh Cheema in men's 10m Air Pistol team event.
In wushu, Roshibina Devi Naorem won a silver medal, after losing his gold medal bout of women's 60kg category. The third medal of the day came in equestrian, with Anush Agarwalla winning a bronze in individual dressage.
