India won eight medals on Day 4 of the 2023 Asian Games.
Shooter Sift Kaur Samra won a gold medal in women's 50m 3 Positions, whilst creating a new world record. Ashi Chouksey won a bronze medal in the same event.
The other gold medal of the day came in women's 25m Air Pistol Team, secured by the trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan.
Esha then won a silver medal in women 25m Air Pistol individual.
Anant Jeet Singh Naruka won two medals – a silver in men's skeet individual, and a bronze in men's team skeet, alongside Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Gurjoat Siingh Khangura.
Sailor Vishnu Saravanan won a bronze medal in Men's Dinghy ILCA7.
Boxer Nikhat Zareen won her Round of 16 bout, while in Wushu, Roshibina Devi Naorem qualified for a gold medal bout.

The day started with Neha Thakur, a 17-year-old sailor, winning a silver medal in Girl’s Dinghy ICLA4 category. Eabad Ali was the second sailor to secure a medal, winning silver in Men’s Windsurfer RS:X category.

The wushu men's Daoshu final is all set to get underway and India's Rohit Jadhav will be in action.
Shooting: Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan began well in the precision pistol round.. With a total of 975 points, they are leading the table.

Shooting, Series 3: 97 for Esha; 98 for Rhythm. Esha (586 - 17 inner 10s) is in fourth place right now, and the final qualifier for the final, Rhythm (583 - 23 inner 10s), is in eighth place.
Shooting: Samra Sift Kaur finishes at 4th position with 100 shots in both kneeling and prone positions with a total of 397. Ashi scores 199 and jumps up to the seventh spot. With 198 in the prone position, Manini moves to the 19th spot.
Rohit Jadhav has finished 8th with a score of 9.413. China's Zhizhao Chang wins gold with 9.826 points.
Shooting: After Esha and Rhythm's shooting prowess, India's hope of winning the 25m women’s pistol team event are high as they lead China by four points.
Meanwhile, Manu Bhaker and China’s Sixuan Feng are yet to shoot in their rapid series.
India's men's foil team has lost to Singapore 30-45 in the round of 16.
Swimming: With a timing of 1:03.89, India's Nina Venkatesh finished Heat 2 of the Women’s 100m Butterfly fourth.
Swimming: Nina Venkatesh has finished 14th in the heats and has failed to qualify for the women's 100m butterfly heats.
Shooting: Sift Kaur has scored 594 to tie for first place with Siyu Xia of China in terms of points but finished second with less inside 10s. Meanwhile, Ashi Chouksey has a total of 590 is currently at the 6th place.
Shooting: After finishing in second place with 1766 points during qualification, the Indian trio of Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey and Manini Kaushik take home the silver medal in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions. They finished second behind China's Xia Siyu, Han Jiayu and Zhang Qiongyue.
Sift Kaur Samra and Ashi Chouksey have both advanced to the finals which will take place at 12 by placing second and sixth while Manini Kaushik missed out on the individual final as she finished at the 18th position.
Shooting: With a 99/100 in her first rapid series to the individual qualifications, Manu Bhaker has had an excellent start. And, India has a 2-point advantage over China for the gold medal in the team competition.
Shooting: Another 99 from Manu, and this time Feng matches it with a 99 of her own. Each team has ten shots remaining, and India is ahead by three points.
Shooting: India get their first gold of the Day 4 as Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan have won gold in the 25m pistol team event.
China have clinched the silver with 1756 while Korea have won bronze with 1742.
Meanwhile, Manu and Esha have also qualified for the individual final later today, Rhythm missed the cut as only two shooters per country are allowed as per Asian Games' rules.

Srihari Nataraj clocked a time of 1:49:05, creating a national record but has missed out on a spot in the final as he finished at the 10th place in the men's 200m freestyle
Tanish George Mathew finished in the 19th place with a time of 1:52:39.
In the women’s 100m backstroke heats, Maana Patel finished 13th overall with 1:03.55s timing and has failed make the cut for final.
Linesha finished 18th overall in the heats with a timing of 1:15.60s, couldn't make it to the final.
Nina Venkatesh finished 14th in the heats and failed to qualify for the women's 100m butterfly heats, too.
In the men's individual sprint 1/16 heat, David Beckham defeated Kazakhistan's Sergey Ponomaryov to advance to the quaterfinals.
India have defeated Nepal 3-0 in the second Pool B match.

Shooting: The women's 50m rifle 3p have started and India's Sift Samra is at the third place with 102.1 while Ashi Chouksey is in the 7th spot with 100.2 after 10 shots of the first kneeling series.
Shooting: Sift Kaur Samra is leading the standing with 154.6 after the 15 shots in kneeling while Ashi Chouksey is in the sixth place with 152.5.
Shooting: After the kneeling position, the prone position will be underway in the next couple of minutes.
Shooting: Sift is leading with 260.1 and Ashi has climbed up to 3rd place with 258.5.
Shooting: Sift is still leading with 312.5 while Ashi is second with 311.6. Both the Indian shooters are in the top two now. Can we get a gold and a silver here?
The Indian men's squash team continued with their winning streak as they registered a 3-0 win against Kuwait in their Pool-A game. All three team members, Abhay Singh, Saurav Ghosal and Mahesh Mangaonkar recorded an absolute victory in their respective games by beating their opponent 3-0.
They will be next up against Pakistan in the evening.
Shooting: After getting done with 30 shots each of the kneeling and the prone positions, the third and final round which is the standing position of the women's 50m rifle 3p is underway.

Shooting: India's Sift Kaur Samra(469.6) clinches a gold while Ashi Chouksey(451.9) wins the bronze medal in women's 50m rifle 3p individual event.
Samra didn't only win the gold but also created a world record with her score of 469.6. The previous record of 467 was held by Great Britain's Seonaid McIntosh from May, 2023.
In the India vs Singapore Pool A hockey match, India women are leading 5-0 at the end of first quarter.
With a combined score of 355, the Indian shotgun trio of Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, Gurjoat Siingh Khangura, and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa has won a bronze in the men's skeet team event. With 362, China won the gold, while Qatar wins the silver with 359.
Anant qualified for the individual final at 1:00pm IST today with a score of 121.
With a net score of 34, India's Vishnu Saravanan has won the bronze medal in the men's ILCA 7 dinghy. Ha Jeemin of Korea wins silver with 33 while Singapore's Lo Jun Han Ryan wins gold with 26.

Meanwhile, in the India's women's pool A hockey opener against Singapore, the women in blue are dominating over the Singaporeans.

The Indian women's epee team defeated Jordan 45-36 to advance to today's quarterfinal matchup at 12:00pm IST where they;ll be squaring off against Republic of Korea.
Shooting: Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh in the women’s 25m pistol final action underway.
Shooting: Bhaker and Esha could only manage to get two shots on target out of the five in the first series.
Shooting: Manu made four of five shots after missing her initial attempt. Esha just missed two. After the second series, Manu is ranked fourth while Esha is positioned sixth.
Shooting: Esha made five successful shots. Manu missed twice. With a score of 10, Esha is tied for third and with a score of 9, Manu is ranked fifth at the end of the third series.
Shooting: In the fourth series, Esha shot four out of five while Manu misses the four shots but get the last one right.
China's Wu Chiayinh has been eliminated.
Shooting: Five out of five for Manu. What a comeback! Esha, on the other hand, missed her first and last two shots, getting only the third one right. Both Manu and Esha are tied for the 4th place with 15 points each.
Singaporean shooter Shun Xie Teo has been eliminated.
Shooting: A tie again for the Indian shooters. Both of them have 18 points to their name. Meanwhile, the chart is led by China's Liu Rui(24) followed by Yang Jiin(22) of South Korea and Feng Sixuan(20) of China.
Iran's Haniyeh is eliminated.
Shooting: After a little break due to some techinical glitch, the shooters resume with Esha Singh getting five out of five shots right in the seventh series while Manu has been eliminated as she finished fifth.
Esha is joint third with a score of 23. The next series is for her medal.
Shooting: In the eight series, Esha missed her first shot but gets the rest four on point. She's now climbed up to the second spot with 27 points.
Jiin Yang of South Korea advances to the final three after defeating Feng Xixua of China in the shootout.
Shooting: Esha is now just two points behind the Chinese shooter with 34 points. In this series, she got yet another five out of five with 32 points.
The Korean shooter takes the bronze medal.
Shooting: India's Esha Singh clinches the silver medal in the 25m pistol women's individual event. She finished second in the standings with 34 points.
China's Liu Rui bags the gold with 38 points.
Fencing: The Republic of Korea defeated the Indian women's epee team 25-45 in the quarterfinals.
Sailor Nethra Kumanan finishes fourth in Women's Dinghy – ILCA6. She was fourth on overall standings after 14 races, but the medal race was cancelled.
Sailing officially concludes with three medals for India.
Hockey: The Indian women's hockey team defeated Singapore 13-0 with 10 Indian players contributing to the scoreline.
In the men's round of 16 competition, Malaysian Muhammad Sahrom defeated Indian cyclist David Beckham.
Shooting: Anant has gotten off to a brilliant start in skeet men's final, so far, he's scored a perfect ten out of five ten. He is tied for first place with the UAE and Chinese shooters.
Shooting: Anant Jeet Singh Naruka currently has 20 out of 24 shots. He's now slipped to the fourth place.
Shooting: With perfect 24/24, Anant is back on top. He's tied with his Chinese counterpart.
Shooting: Jiangchi Luu has been eliminated after scoring just 18 points out of 20 and missing his last attempt. Meanwhile, Anant is still at the top with perfect 30/30.
Boxer Shiva Thapa’s campaign comes to a premature end at the 2023 Asian Games. The six-time Asian Championships medallist loses his men’s 57-63.5kg Round of 16 tie against Kyrgyzstan’s Askat Kultaev 0-5 on points.
Shooting: It has been brilliant shooting from the Indian shooter and his 60-year old counterpart Abdullah Alrashidi so far. Both of them have continuously tied for the first spot.
Shooting: First miss from Anant Naruka in the 44th shot while Alrashidi is still going on well with his streak. A perfect 44/44.
Yet another defeat in boxing, as Sanjeet loses his Round of 16 tie in men’s 80-92kg category. The 26-year-old from Haryana, who won a gold medal at the Asian Championships back in 2019, lost the tie by a 0-5 margin against his Uzbek opponent, Lazizbek Mullojonov.
Shooting: Anant Naruka of India won silver in the men's skeets with a score of 58/60, while his 60-year-old Kuwaiti opponent Abdullah Alrashidi, who earned a flawless 60/60, won the gold. Additionally, he tied the world record set by Angad Bajwa of India.
Meanwhile in Esports, the League of Legends team – comprising Akshaj Shenoy, Mihir Ranjan, Samarth Trivedi, Aditya Selvaraj, Aakash Shandilya, and Sanindhya Malik – bow out in the quarter-finals stage. They were handed a 0-2 defeat by Vietnam.
There has been another defeat, this one being in fencing. The women's epee team, featuring Taniksha Khatri, Jyotika Dutta and Ena Arora, was defeated in the quarter-final stage by South Korea. India lost the match by a 25-45 margin.
The Indian men's 3x3 basketball team's winning run continues at the 2023 Asian Games. After a triumph over Malaysia in their first game, they have now defeated Macau by a 21-12 margin in their second group stage game. In their final match in the group, they will face the current table-toppers, China.
In men's individual chess, Vidit Gujarathi is in fray for a place on the podium. Following a draw against Mongolia's Bilguun Sumiya in the penultimate round, he is currently placed fourth on the standings. In the final round, he will play against Uzbekistan's Javokhir Sindarov, who is currently holding on to the third place.
Meanwhile, Arjun Erigaisi was defeated by Uzbekistan's Nodirbek Abdusattorov, which sees him struggling in the ninth position.
Meanwhile in women's individual chess, both Koneru Humpy and Harika Dronavalli are out of podium places currently. The duo faced each other in the penultimate round, with the tie ending in a draw.
Currently fifth on the standings, Koneru is facing the fourth-placed player, Kazakhstan's Bibissara Assaubayeva in the last last round. Meanwhile, the sixth-placed Harika is up against the first-placed Zhu Jiner.
In table tennis, the mixed doubles pair of Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Manika Batra are currently in action. They are up against the Thai pair of Napat Thanmathikom and Suthasini Sawettabut.
India's campaign in women's individual chess ends in agony, as Harika Dronavalli narrowly misses out on a bronze medal. She managed to beat the gold medallist, Zhu Jiner, in her final match. However, China's Hou Yifan too won her last match, handing her a place in the podium.
Harika finishes fourth in the overall standings, while Koneru Humpy, who drew against Bibissara Assaubayeva in her last match, finishes on the seventh position.
Unfortunately, there will not be any addition to the medals tally from the chess contingent today.
In men's individual chess, Vidit Gujarathi had the chance to secure a bronze medal as he was in fourth place before the final round, but ended up losing his last game against Uzbekistan's Javokhir Sindarov. With 5.5 points, he finishes in fifth position.
Arjun Erigaisi defeated Bangladesh's Enamul Hossain in his last match to end on the sixth position, with 5.5 points to his account as well.
Great news coming from table tennis, as the mixed doubles pair of Sathiyan Gnanasekaran and Manika Batra have advanced to the Round of 16. In their Round of 32 tie, the Indian pair defeated Thailand's Napat Thanmathikom and Suthasini Sawettabut by a 3-1 margin.
In the next round, Sathiyan and Manika will face Singapore's Zhe Yu Clarence Chew and Zeng Jian.
In squash, India and Pakistan are competing in a Pool A game. Having won their first three matches, India have got off to a poor start in this fixture, as Noor Zaman defeated Abhay Singh to give the Pakistani team an early lead.
VICTORY IN WUSHU!
Roshibina Devi Naorem, who had previously assured at least a bronze medal by qualifying for the semi-final of women's 60kg category, will now be fighting for a gold medal after securing a place in the final. In her semi-final match, she defeated Vietnam's Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy 2-0 to advance to the gold medal bout.
In the final, she will be competing against China's Wu Xiaowei.
More great news for the Indian contingent, as in boxing, world champion Nikhat Zareen has advanced to the quarter-final of women's 45-50kg category. In the Round of 16 tie, she brushed aside South Korea's Chorong Bak quite comfortably, winning the bout 5-0 on points.
In her next match, she will be up against Jordan's Hanan Nassar.
Update from handball – The women's team have drawn their second group stage match against Hong Kong 26-26. Menika scored in the dying stages of the game to salvage a point for India. Having started their campaign with a defeat to Japan, India are currently third in their group. Their last two group stage matches will be against China and Nepal.
The Indian women's 5x5 basketball team have started their campaign exactly as they would have wanted to with a 66-46 victory over Indonesia in their first group stage encounter. Star player Shireen Vijay Limaye was India's show-stopper, scoring 13 points, while Pushpa Senthil Kumar contributed 12 points.
India will now compete against Mongolia and China in their next two group stage matches.
The news coming from squash is not what Indian fans would have wanted to hear, as the men's team has been defeated by Pakistan.
Noor Zaman gave Pakistan the lead by beating Abhay Singh, albeit Saurav Ghoshal restored parity by getting the better of Muhammad Asim Khan. However, Nasir Iqbal won the last game against Mahesh Mangaonkar to secure a 2-1 triumph for Pakistan.
With this defeat, India are second in Group A, as Pakistan are occupying the first position. In their last group stage game, India will be up against the bottom-ranked Nepal.
And with this, we have come to the conclusion of Day 4.
Albeit it ended with a defeat in squash, it has been an exemplary day for India with eight medals added to the tally. Seven of those medals came in shooting – two gold, three silver and two bronze.
The highlight was Sift Kaur Samra, the student of medicine from Punjab, creating a new world record in the women's 50m 3P individual event.
Barring the shooters, there was another medal in sailing, taking India's tally to three on what was the last day for the sport in this competition. Vishnu Saravanan won a bronze medal in Men's Dinghy – ILCA7, courtesy of overall points, after his medal race was cancelled owing to inadequate wind for providing racing conditions.
Elsewhere, Nikhat Zareen continued her flawless run, while Roshibina Devi Naorem qualified for the final of women's 60kg category in Wushu.
