From speaking to people who were around during India’s first Republic Day, to Javed Akhtar’s poetry on democracy and dissent, we have an interesting lineup of podcasts for you this weekend.

1. How Easy Is It to Hack an Electronic Voting Machine?

On this episode of The Big Story podcast, we answer the age-old question, “Can you hack an EVM?” We speak to Hari Prasad, a man who attempted an EVM hack in 2010. We'll also tell you why he was arrested, how he tried to hack the EVMs, and other people who have faced similar consequences. Joining me on this episode is The Quint’s tech and policy correspondent Sushovan Sircar, who spoke to Prasad.

2. Indians Share Stories from First Republic Day

India is celebrating its 70th Republic Day on 26 January 1950, but where were you when India celebrated its very first Republic Day in 1950? For the fourth episode of this podcast series, we spoke to four senior citizens to relive their memories of India's first Republic day when the Constitution had come into effect making India a fully functional independent republic.

Over 2,300 Test matches have been played in the history of the sport, but only thrice has a team gone on to win after being made to follow on.

The last time was in Kolkata. In 2001, when India beat Australia by a massive 171 runs.

The VVS Laxman ‘281’ Test.

And in this week’s episode of our podcast series The Greatest Games, the man who spearheaded India’s fightback in the match, VVS Laxman, recalls his favourite memories from the game. Click on the player below and listen to the podcast.
