A viral video on social media claims that firing took place near Sarvoday hospital in Ghatkopar, Mumbai. Also, one person was killed in the incident. The claim reads: ‘Ghatkopar ln News !! Firing at Ghatkopar, Near sarvoday hospital !! One person dead !!Two persons fired from rickshaw with masks!’’
Several social media users shared the video on Facebook and Twitter with a similar claim.

TRUE OR FALSE?
The claim about the viral video is false. This video is not of a firing incident at Ghatkopar in Mumbai. Rather, the video is of a shootout that took place between rival gangs near the Dwarka Mor metro station in Delhi on 19 May.
WHAT WE FOUND OUT?
We searched for the viral video on YouTube using keywords ‘Firing,’ ‘Ghatkopar.’ This led us to a video on which a user had commented ‘Dwarka Delhi.’
Then, we did a YouTube search using keywords ‘Dwarka’ and ‘Firing’ that showed us several videos on shootout at Delhi’s Dwarka shared by news channels such as India TV and NDTV , among others.
Further, while we were tracking tweets regarding the shootout that took place in Dwarka on TweetDeck, a dashboard application for management of Twitter accounts, we found a tweet by Raj Shekhar Jha, journalist with The Times of India. He had shared a snapshot of the viral video with the claim that a shootout took place between two gangs in Dwarka.
WHAT HAPPENED IN DELHI’S DWARKA?
A shootout took place between rival gangs near the Dwarka Mor metro station in South West Delhi on 19 May, police said, reported PTI. Following which, two suspected criminals were killed. Parveen Gehlot, who lived in Nawada area and Vikas Dalal had various cases of murders, robberies and extortion registered against them in Delhi and Haryana, the police added.
As per the police, the shootout took place because of a property dispute. It started at around 4 pm when people sitting in a black car opened fire on a white car. A senior police officer that fifteen rounds were fired that led to panic among the commuters in that busy area. The officer further said that Gehlot was sitting in his car when three men in another car stopped him and opened fire at him. Three rounds were fired at the criminals by the police officials who were in a PCR van. One of them was shot dead, he said.
Furthermore, two people who were involved in the shootout managed to escape. The police informed that they have identified them and are making the required efforts to nab them. A murder case has been registered at Bindapur police station, the officer said. He added that Dalal was on the run since 2018 as he had escaped from Haryana police's custody.
