Taking a dig at the BJP government and Prime Minister Narenda Modi, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi said that the only problem at hand is that of unemployment in the country.

Alleging that the NDA government’s economic policies have led to unemployment, Gandhi said, “Gujarat itself has 50 lakh unemployed youth alone.”

Gandhi compared Himachal Pradesh to Gujarat, saying the Congress-ruled state has witnessed more development in five years than the BJP-ruled Gujarat. He said Himachal Pradesh is ahead of Gujarat in terms of job creation as well.

The person who doesn’t listen to people has no right to lead the country.

Speaking about the BJP government’s shakedown of the Indian economy, Gandhi said Modi first hurt the economy with demonetisation and then with the five-slab Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The Congress had proposed maximum 18 percent GST, but the Modi government fixed it at 28 percent. Small and medium businesses would not be able to pay such a huge tax.

Gandhi went on to show his support for the current Himachal Chief Minister amid corruption allegations, saying Virbhadra Singh will be Chief Minister for the seventh consecutive term.
