BJP’s Rajendra Gavit wins Palghar Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra, defeating Shiv Sena’s Srinivas Vanga. Meanwhile, in the Bhandara-Gondiya Lok Sabha seat, National Congress Party’s KM Yashawantrao emerges victorious with over 16,000 votes.

NDPP wrested the Nagaland seat from NPF according to News18.com.

NDPP candidate won the Nagaland Lok Sabha seat. Tokheho Yepthomi, representing the ruling PDA (People's Democratic Alliance) in Nagaland, defeated NPF nominee C Apok Jamir by 1,73,746 votes.

Shiv Sena's Demand Rejected by EC

Shiv Sena's demand to recall the Palghar bypoll result has been rejected by Election Commission, according to ANI. The winning certificate has been given to BJP candidate Rajendra Gavit by the Palghar collector.

Shiv Sena Demans Re-Counting in Palghar

The Shiv Sena has demanded re-counting of votes in the Palghar constituency, where BJP’s Rajendra Gavit has emerged victorious, reported CNN-News18. The party has reportedly written a letter to the EC demanding a re-count.

Sena alleged that there were discrepancies in the counting from rounds 20-25.

NCP Wins Bhandara Gondia in Maharashtra

The Nationalist Congress Party has won the Bandar Gondiya constituency bypoll in Maharashtra. The NCP defeated BJP to emerge victorious in the Lok Sabha seat.

NDPP Leads by Over 41,000 Votes in Nagaland

Tokheho Yepthomi of the ruling People's Democratic Alliance (PDA) has consolidated his lead with a margin of over 41,000 votes for the lone Lok Sabha seat, EC sources told PTI.

Yepthomi of the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has so far bagged 2,15,835 votes, while C Apok Jamir of the opposition Naga People's Front (NPF) secured 1,73,863 votes in a straight fight.

Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut hit out at the Election Commission, alleging foul play in the Palghar and Bhandara-Gondiya Lok Sabha bypolls, ANI reported.

“Many EVMs were faulty, names of about 50-60,00 people were missing from voter list. Also, within 12 hours of voting ending, EC changed vote percentage. So all this is very doubtful” he told ANI.

Counting of votes for Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra’s Palghar and Bhandara-Gondia as well as Nagaland’s Aonglenden has begun. A total of 11 Assembly seats (including 10 by-polls) and 4 Lok Sabha constituencies across 11 states will witness counting today, ANI reported.

In Palghar, the votes will be counted with postal ballot counting, the Times of India reported.

Bhandara-Gondia By-Election Result: Gondia District Collector Transferred

Abhimanyu Kale, the district collector of Gondia in Maharashtra, was transferred on Tuesday, 29 May, after the Lok Sabha by-election there was marred by large scale complaints of malfunctioning EVMs.

After voting for the Palghar Lok Sabha bypoll ended, an FIR was filed against a polling officer in Palghar as he transported some EVMs to the counting centre in a private car, breaking norms.
