Parliament Monsoon Session 2022 Live Updates: As the Monsoon Session of Parliament continues, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha convened at 11 am on Tuesday, 26 July.
Lok Sabha passed the Family Courts (Amendment) Bill 2022. Both Houses were adjourned to meet again at 11 am on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, 19 Rajya Sabha MPs including TMC MPs Sushmita Dev, Dr Santanu Sen and Dola Sen, among others were suspended for the remainder of the week.
"Narender baba wants to silence Congress-led Opposition, which won’t happen," Tagore wrote on Twitter on Tuesday morning reacting to the suspension of four Congress MPs.
Since the Parliament session began last week, both Houses have suffered frequent adjournments as the Opposition protests against inflation, hike in GST prices, and suspension of Congress MPs, demanding a discussion on price hikes in the Houses.
The Monsoon Session, which began on 18 July, is scheduled to end on 12 August
On Monday, four Congress MPs were suspended from the Lok Sabha for the rest of the session for causing disruptions.

Congress MP Manickam Tagore, who was suspended from the Lok Sabha on Monday, said on Tuesday that he could not submit notices for discussion on price hike concerns, but that he would not be silenced.
"As I am suspended from Loksabha by Hon’ble Speaker, I can’t submit adjournment motion on price rise , LPG hike and GST rates . Should keep silence? Never. Narender baba wants to silence Congress led Opposition which won’t happen [sic]," he tweeted.

Amid a stalemate in Parliament, the Congress on Tuesday asked why the government is not allowing an urgent debate on price rise and GST when the entire Opposition is demanding it.
"Entire Opposition is demanding an urgent debate on price rise and GST in Rajya Sabha under Rule 267. The rule has been invoked a number of times, most recently on 16.11.16 to debate on demonetisation, on 10.08.16 to discuss Jammu and Kashmir, and on 23.04.15 to debate on agrarian crisis. Why is the Modi government refusing now?" Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asked.

Union minister Pralhad Joshi said on Tuesday, "I'm assuring you that there will be a discussion on price rise in Parliament. Finance Minister Sitharaman who was down with COVID-19, will return in a day or two, then, we will have a discussion. As compared to many countries in the world, inflation in India is contained."
Lok Sabha resumed at 11.45 am, amid sloganeering and protests by the Opposition.
Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MP Jayant Chaudhary said on Tuesday, "It's not clear whether or not the government wants to discuss inflation and Agnipath recruitment scheme in Parliament. In all-party meet, Rajnath Singh had admitted that Agnipath an important issue and should be discussed. Till now, government has not discussed these issues."
Amid sloganeering and display of placards by Opposition MPs, the Upper House was adjourned minutes after resuming, till 12.20 pm.
As the question hour was interrupted by protests and sloganeering by Opposition MPs demanding a discussion on inflation in the country, the Lower House was adjourned till 2 pm.

The Question Hour was conducted amid ruckus by joint Opposition raising slogans such as "Rollback GST", "Autocracy down down", and "Modi down down". The Upper House was then adjourned till 2 pm.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai informed the Parliament that 28 migrant workers have been killed by terrorists since 2017, out of which two belonged to Maharashtra, one to Jharkhand, seven to Bihar and none from Madhya Pradesh.

Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day to meet at 11 am on Wednesday amid ruckus created by 19 suspended MPs.
The Family Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2022, is being considered for discussion and passing in the Lok Sabha.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday, "We are ready for discussion but despite that, they (Opposition) are repeatedly disrupting House proceedings. We are hopeful that as soon as Finance minister comes the discussion on price rise will take place. Some MPs have been suspended for this week for disrupting the House."
After being suspended, TMC MP Sushmita Dev said, "It is clear that the Modi government does not have an answer to inflation. If Finance Minister is not well, PM Modi can answer our questions. This is unfair to suspend 19 MPs for raising questions in parliament. We will protest inside and outside the parliament."
She added, "GST has been imposed on things that a common man uses on daily basis and instead of having a discussion on this in the parliament, we have been suspended."
Suspended TMC MP Mausam Noor said, "This is very unfortunate, we only wanted to have discussions on inflation. Government does not want to have discussions and this is the reason we have been suspended. We will protest outside the parliament."
"As per reports received from the Bureau of Immigration, 2,399 Bangladeshi nationals were intercepted and found using fraudulently obtained Indian documents at Bureau of Immigration controlled ICPs, from the year 2017 to 2022," the Ministry of Home Affairs stated in the Lok Sabha.
Speaking on the 20,000 Indian students who returned from Ukraine amid the Russian invasion of the country, Minister of State Health and Family Welfare Bharti Pawar told the Lok Sabha, "There are no such provisions in Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and National Medical Commission Act, 2019 as well as the Regulations to accommodate or transfer medical students from any foreign medical institutes to Indian medical colleges."
She said that "foreign medical students/graduates are either covered under "Screening Test Regulations, 2002" or "Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021."
Meanwhile, as per information received from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Indian Embassy in Kyiv has communicated with all the concerned Universities in Ukraine for providing transcript and other documents in a smooth manner to the students.
The government, in a written reply in Lok Sabha, presented the state-wise list of custodial death cases between 2020-22, showing that the most number of such incidents occurred in Uttar Pradesh.
"Disaggregated data on deaths due to COVID-19 by profession or otherwise is not maintained centrally," said the Health Ministry in a written reply to Rajya Sabha.
