Chaudhary said, “Would like to thank all parties who supported us, thank Akhileshji, Mayawatiji, Rahulji, Soniaji, the CPI(M), the AAP and others. Jinnah hara, Ganna jeeta.”

Speaking to ANI, Indra Vijay Singh, Collector of Shamli district, said, “First round of counting is completed and tabulation is underway. Congress candidate Tabassum Hasan has received 3,700 votes and BJP's Mriganka Singh has received 3,746 votes.”

According to News18, early trends suggest that the BJP is leading in the Kairana Lok Sabha postal ballot.

Counting of votes for the bypolls to Uttar Pradesh’s Kairana Lok Sabha constituency begins.
Amid tight security, repolling took place at 73 polling booths in Kairana Lok Sabha constituency, with an estimated 48 percent voter turnout till 3 pm, reported PTI.
The Election Commission had ordered repolling in the constituency in view of technical snags in EVM-VVPAT machines during the by-election on Monday.
The Kairana seat fell vacant after the death of BJP MP Hukum Singh, whose daughter Mriganka Singh is now the party candidate.
She is fighting Rashtriya Lok Dal's Tabassum Hasan, who also has the support of the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
Just ahead of the polls, Lok Dal candidate Kanwar Hasan retired from the contest and joined the RLD, further boosting Tabassum’s chances.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has campaigned hard for Kairana.
It hopes to send a strong message to voters, party workers as well as the Opposition that the drubbing it got in Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-elections was an aberration — and that they are a force to reckon with in western Uttar Pradesh.
The Opposition hopes that by consolidating the anti-BJP vote, it will repeat its success in Gorakhpur and Phulpur by-elections earlier this year when the ruling party suffered humiliating defeats.
By-elections were held for Gorakhpur and Phulpur in March as the seats fell vacant when UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his deputy, Keshav Prasad Maurya, resigned after entering the UP legislative council.
