A 21-year-old woman from Sevak Khera village in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district was found murdered with her throat slit on Monday, 24 December, reported The Indian Express.

Three youths have been taken in police custody for questioning in relation to the case, according to the report.

The deceased, Goldie Yadav, a graduate, was preparing for Uttar Pradesh Police constable recruitment examination.

Goldie had left home early morning to relieve herself and when she did not return her family started searching for her. Her body was later found in a nearby field, TIE reported quoting Manoj Kumar Mishra, Station Officer, Maurawan police station.

According to the report, Mishra said the victim's throat was slit with a sharp-edged weapon.

“The autopsy report stated the death caused due to the throat slit and excessive bleeding. There was no sexual assault as per the report.”

While the family has ruled out any possibility of enmity, the police suspect that the murder could be connected to a love affair.
