The Delhi Police on Thursday, 4 August, said that a suspicious object found in Delhi's Rohini was checked by security forces and nothing untoward was found.

"The object has been checked. Nothing suspicious was found," DCP (Rohini) Pranav Tayal said.

An unattended bag had been found in the parking area near DC Chowk, Rohini Sector-9. It was later claimed by an elderly woman. She said she had come to the canteen for a meal and forgot to carry the bag with her, a senior police officer was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.

The suspicious bag had raised alarm amid tightened security ahead of the Independence Day.

A bomb detection and disposal squad was immediately sent to the site. Sniffer dogs had also been deployed.
