In what turned out to be an embarrassment for the Uttar Pradesh government, many youths disrupted an employment fair attended by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Ghazipur on Saturday, 22 December, throwing handkerchiefs, towels, chairs and bottles.

Visuals from the event held under the Ministry of Skill Development also showed people fighting among themselves. CM Yogi reportedly left the venue five minutes after the start of event.

Apart from Yogi Adityanath, the event was also attended by Union Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha, who attributed the ruckus to some anti-social elements, reported Hindustan Times.

The event reportedly saw a turnout of 30,000 people, more than the 5,000-6,000 who were expected to attend. Those attending the event were reportedly displeased over the delay in getting registration forms.

“I haven’t received any complaint in this connection. If a complaint is filed, a case will be registered and action will be taken accordingly.”
Inspector Ravindra Bhushan Maurya, SO, Ghazipur Kotwali police station, as quoted by Hindustan Times
