The Rewari gang rape, where a 19-year-old girl was raped earlier this month, has a fresh twist in the tale now. As police arrested all the three key accused on Sunday, 23 September, reports say one more army man has been arrested in the case.

Navin (alias Nikku) was arrested on Tuesday, 25 September, for his alleged involvement in the case, The Times of India reported. The report added that while the exact charges on which Navin was arrested is not known, he is said to have been present in the tube well where the crime was committed.

Navin had joined the Army about six months ago and was undergoing basic training at the Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur.

Earlier on 18 September, a woman Assistant Sub-Inspector was suspended for alleged 'delay' in taking action in the Rewari gang rape case, even as Haryana Police carried out raids in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and several other states to nab the two key accused, including an army man, who are still at large, nearly a week after the crime.

Navin was arrested from the army training centre, TOI reported.

A native of Nayagaon village, Navin was produced before the duty magistrate where he was ordered to be sent to police remand for 10 days.

The report said he was on leave from training when the gang rape took place.
