Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Friday, 1 December that security forces have eliminated over 200 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in 2017.

He made the remark at a BJP rally in Mahudha town, Kheda district, of poll-bound Gujarat.

“What has happened to our neighbouring country Pakistan? Every day they are doing some mischief or the other,” he said.

But the morale of our security forces is high, they are ferreting out and eliminating two, four, five, six, or seven terrorists every day. The month of December is yet to pass, but we have already gotten rid of more than 200 terrorists in 2017.

The Home Minister’s statement came two days after a statement from Jammu & Kashmir Director General of Police, SP Vaid, congratulating the J&K Police for the feat.

“I give credit to martyrs of Army, J&K Police, CRPF, and all other forces and those involved in these forces, who work day and night. It is a result of an effective intelligence network & good coordination, ” Vaid added in a statement to ANI.
