The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021 was passed in the Lok Sabha, on Monday, 13 December as the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament entered its 11th day.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in a tweet on Monday morning, "I pay my tribute to all those security personnel who were martyred in the line of duty during the Parliament attack in 2001."
It has been 20 years since five militants stormed India's Parliament complex, on 13 December 2001.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju will move the Bill that seeks amendment in The High Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1954 and the Supreme and Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Act, 1958. The bill seeks to bring clarity concerning the date of eligibility of additional quantum of pension to a retired judge.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge said, "Today, we will raise the issue of the suspension of 12 MPs in Parliament. Their suspension must be taken back. Floor leaders of Opposition parties meet today morning on this issue."
Rajya Sabha was adjourned till noon, amid a walk out by the Opposition and protests over the suspension of 12 MPs.
Referring to a controversial passage in CBSE's Class 10 English exam, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, while addressing the Lok Sabha, said that the passage contains "atrocious statements," such as "women gaining independence is the main reason for a wide variety of social and family problems."
Gandhi added, "The entire passage is riddled with such condemnable ideas and the questions that follow are equally nonsensical".
Further, Gandhi urged the Ministry of Education and CBSE to immediately withdraw this question, issue an apology, and conduct a thorough review into this "egregious lapse to ensure this is never repeated ever again."
Moreover, Gandhi added that the Ministry of Education must also conduct a review on gender sensitivity standards of the curriculum and testing.
Minutes after the Upper House resumed, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 pm.
Rajya Sabha resumed proceedings at 2 pm. Union law and justice minister Kiren Rijiju tabled the 'High Court and Supreme Court Judges (Salaries and Conditions of Service) Amendment Bill 2021' for discussion.
The Bill clarifies when Supreme Court and High Court judges are entitled to an additional quantum of pension or family pension on attaining a certain age.
Two Trinamool Congress (TMC) Rajya Sabha MPs submitted a privilege notice against Justice (retired) Ranjan Gogoi for his comments regarding the House made during his interview to a private channel.
Gogoi was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in March 2020. Since then, he has 12 percent attendance in the Parliament, as compared to the national average of 79 percent, as per legislative research organisation PRS.
Defending his poor attendance, Gogoi had said, "I go to the Rajya Sabha whenever I feel like it."
Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till Tuesday, 14 December.
